Read Aloud 21-Day Challenge

Read Aloud is a national organization that promotes reading aloud for 15 minutes each day. Beginning in March they are promoting the Read Aloud 21-Day Challenge. The idea is that if you do something for 21 days it becomes a habit. The campaign is promoted primarily through social media. We have established a Facebook page (Washington County Read Aloud) as well as a Twitter link (#WCReadAloud) to help promote the initiative.
The challenge is easy! Take pictures of adults or older children reading to younger children, and post the pictures to our Facebook and/or Twitter sites. You can register to take part in the challenge at readaloud.org/21daychallenge
This year, the Washington County Early Childhood Advisory Council and OnTrack Washington County have teamed up to support this initiative. Partners on the planning committee include representatives from the Washington County Free Library, the Washington County Family Center, APPLES for Children, Herald Mail, the City of Hagerstown, and Washington County Public Schools.
