Olde Fashioned Holiday Open House at the National Road Museum
December 6 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Welcome the holidays and celebrate the one-year anniversary of the National Road Museum on December 6 from 11am to 3pm. The National Road Museum and Boonsboro Trolley Station Museum will be decorated for the holidays, and light refreshments will be provided. A take-home craft will be available for children. The National Road Museum first opened on December 14th, 2024, and takes visitors on a journey through the history of the Historic National Road, locally known as Alternate Rt. 40, which was the first federally-sponsored road and became known as “The Road That Built The Nation.” The Boonsboro Trolley Station is part of the 2-museum tour, and tells the story of the rise, heyday, and decline of trolley service in Frederick and Washington county, and how that rural electric railway still impacts our region today decades after trolley service ended. During the event, the museum will be collecting non-perishable foods for the South County Food Pantry, a Boonsboro based organization which supports the needs of residents in southern Washington County. Historic Downtown Boonsboro businesses will be offering additional open houses and sales as part of the larger Holiday in Boonsboro event that day.
