Read-a-Book Day

Celebrate National Read-A-Book Day in Baker Park! Join us at the Baker Park Bandshell on Saturday, September 6 from 12:00–3:30 PM for an afternoon filled with stories, imagination, and community fun.

-Enjoy live readings from beloved and new books.
-Take home free books for children and youth.
-Meet acclaimed local and national authors, including Melinda Beatty, Alexandra Sharp, Michelyve Petit, Cherish McMillia-Kilgoe, and special guest Jason Reynolds, New York Times bestselling author and National Book Award finalist.
-Experience a special Spanish Reading Hour with Centro Hispano from 2:30–3:30 PM.
-Explore artwork created by talented Frederick County Public School students.

Books will be available for autographing, but please purchase your copies in advance from Curious Iguana, as no books will be sold onsite.
